Philip Barrett is chief risk and investment officer, Asia and Europe, appointed in January, 2013 and sits on the Global Investment Committee.
Prior to his current role, Philip was Head of the European Value Add and Opportunistic Funds Group of PREI and a member of the European Executive Committee. Philip joined the group and PREI in May 1999. During this time, the European Opportunity and Value Add Funds has originated, arranged and invested over €1.7bn in equity in a number of transactions in over €6bn of real estate in 10 countries across the European Union.
Prior to joining PREI, Philip spent nine years at Arthur Andersen, reaching the level of senior manager in the real estate group. Roughly half his time was spent as a senior manager specializing on property clients including British Land and Canary Wharf; the remainder on transaction based work, principally for the larger London based private equity houses.
Philip received a B.Sc. in Economics with Statistics from Bristol University. He is a Qualified Chartered Accountant and holds the Investment Management Certificate from the U.K. Society of Investment Professionals.
